Way2Bazar

Methodology

How Way2Bazar sources data, scores businesses, and ranks them — at a high level.

Data sources

Way2Bazar combines multiple legitimate data sources. No single provider is the entire database.

  • Way2Bazar-native data: ratings, reviews, votes and comparisons contributed by the community.
  • Permitted external APIs and public information, such as Google Places metadata and official company websites, used within their terms.
  • A transparent editorial bootstrap that estimates national market presence at launch.

Bootstrap & reference data

At launch, Way2Bazar-native data is limited. We use a controlled bootstrap based on an editorial market-presence reference so categories can be ranked from day one. This bootstrap is clearly distinguished internally, shown with 'Limited data' confidence, and progressively replaced by real signals as they accumulate.

We never create fake users, reviews, ratings, votes, traffic, popularity or engagement. Where a data point cannot be verified, we leave it unavailable rather than inventing a value.

The score

A central, versioned scoring engine converts signals into a 0–100 W2B Score across seven components. Every score records the algorithm version that produced it, so historical scores remain interpretable.

Confidence

Confidence reflects how much data supports a score — number and diversity of signals, freshness and history. It is reported separately from the score. To protect the platform, we do not publish the detailed logic used to detect manipulation.

Monthly ranking

Each month we compute scores, rank within categories, snapshot the leaderboard and record score movement. The score is continuous — it is not reset each month — and historical leaderboards are preserved.

Wording & claims

We describe rankings as Way2Bazar's rankings for a given month (for example, 'Way2Bazar's September 2026 Paints Leaderboard') rather than as absolute, objective claims.
